A very strong, white ceramic material used in dentistry for crowns, bridges, and implant abutments. Zirconia restorations are tooth-coloured, highly durable, and biocompatible. They are particularly suitable for back teeth that experience heavy chewing forces and have largely replaced metal-based restorations in many practices.
